Co-Curricular Activities in Vidhyashram

Vidhyashram lays emphasis on building the overall development of the child. We believe in nurturing pride and building confidence in every student of this school. To achieve this, our students are provided with a number of opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities. We focus on learning beyond classrooms which we call education, it plays an important role in building closer bonds with other classmates contributing to the team spirit and personal growth of every child. Inter and Intrapersonal relationship and leadership skills are enhanced through these activities. Vidhyashram conducts several cultural, literary, and sports competitions throughout the year, which enables students to showcase their talents in a variety of ways. Novice

Vidhyashram International School has undertaken a NOVICE programme for its students from the Art of Living founded by Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji. It is about ‘Nurturing of Values’ in children through education. The programme is very beneficial for students because it helps in improving their power of concentration and refining their thoughts. This programme offers a complete solution for a stress-free and dynamic learning environment. It builds human values such as compassion, kindness, courage, trustworthiness, co-operation and respect in students for each other. It helps the teachers to overcome the difficulties and parents to communicate with their children in the best way.

Scouts and Guides 

Vidhyasharm enrolled itself for Bharat Scouts and Guides in April 2011. Since then, our school has participated in numerous National and State level camps every year. Five of our students have been awarded the prestigious Rashtrapati Award. The school is proud to be the only non aided private CBSE School in Jodhpur to have an active scouts chapter. It helps young minds to explore themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. 

Activities in Schools

Learning at Vidhyashram is about embracing the future. Students participate in various co-curricular activities that include drama, art and craft, debate and declamation, photography, adventure, social service and other activities. Some of them are discussed below in detail-

Science Exhibition 

Science exhibitions are conducted to enhance the students’ knowledge and make the science-learning experience a fun. It helps the children to explore the area of science beyond the curriculum and perform plenty of practical experiments in the science lab and outside it.

Drama

We aim to introduce students to exciting stories, fictional characters and texts in an imaginative and unique way. Drama develops literacy skills – supporting speaking and listening, extending vocabulary and encouraging students to understand and express different points of views. With developing their performance skills, we also seek to inspire the children to read through the stories when they are rehearsing and also research the historical context of the topic.

Annual Prize Distribution

The admirable students who have excelled in the field of Academics, Sports, and Culture are honoured with awards, trophies and certificates. Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony is for all the achievers for having attained a sterling record both in scholastic and co-scholastic domain. 

Education Tours

We arrange annual visits for our children of all classes to historical, cultural, and geographical places. Travel expands the horizons of students and also instills a sense of pride in our National heritage, and builds a strong foundation for patriotism and appreciation of cultural diversity. These trips are meticulously planned to add fun and enthusiasm to school life as it is incomplete without the fun of educational tours and excursions.

Sports Activities 

Vidhyashram lays a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. 

Sports develop and enhance skills like strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, balance etc. We try to expose our children to a number of sports events at the inter-school, state and national level. Our children regularly participate in national and international events and are winning laurels for the school. 

Sports has progressed as a form of entertainment in the years that also offers promising careers. We have young and energetic teachers with a good amount of expertise in sports and provide coaching for sports like Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton, and various indoor games like Chess, Carom, Ludo, Table Tennis, etc. Every student in Vidhyashram is encouraged to join at least one school sports team, and they have trained accordingly.
