MY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

MY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

“Learning is a never ending process , it begins in the womb and ends in the tomb.”

My voyage of experiential learning started with lockdown .The COVID19-Pandemic has forced educators to transform their lessons into online versions in a short period of time, but one thing remains the same — their zeal for teaching.  It is required  to go the extra mile to develop the online skills or come up with innovative ideas to keep children focused in online classes. A significant change in the perception of teachers regarding their resolutions to implement technology in their lessons has to be done .It was suggested to use online programs such as Google Classroom, Google Meet, Skype, Zoom and many other technological tools in order to help learners to continue with their studies. Initially ,I panicked, then I realized there was no way out ,so I pulled my sleeves up .Trust me for the last one and a half years I have been on this roller coaster ride. My approach towards teaching has become qualitative rather than quantitative .

 Implementing NEP

To value real-world learning is an essence for a good teacher. As described in NEP-2020, emphasis has been put on experiential or real-world learning. Hands-on learning, arts-integrated and sports-integrated teaching to make the teaching -learning process more effective and engage children with creative and cognitive learning that goes beyond academia. Its implementation has made the classes more interactive, energetic and a solid reason for the students to join online classes.

So, as a digital educator which I have started calling myself now I know which things or activities will be productive or unproductive for my classes, certain I am mentioning-

Experiential learning is distinct from didactic learning, it is synonymous with other forms of active learning, such adventure learning, free choice learning and cooperative learning which have opened new doors for teaching learning process. I have accepted and firmly started this voyage of experience . This voyage will continue forever , I am still learning and will keep on exploring new paths to make my teaching engrossing and gripping.
