Mohiniyattam Dance Show

Dance is an art through which the inner most feelings of human heart and mind are well expressed. Today VIS witnessed a mesmerizing performance by Dr. (Mrs)  Neena Das, a leading Mohiniyattam dance from Kerala. The program was organized by SPIC MACAY.

Dr. Das was welcomed and honoured by VIS family. The artist gave a brief introduction of Mohiniyattam dance from. She said that this dance form is very popular in Kerala. In ancient time it was performed by devdasis. This form is associated with Lord Vishnu. Performances – based on the tales of Lord Shiva and Krishna-Yashoda were elegantly staged. The spell bond audience had a first-hand experience of the mudras.

The performance started with Ganesh Stuti. The students and the teachers both liked the moves and gestures. The music was equally in tune with the dance. The students enjoyed and enriched their knowledge regarding classical dance forms.

Shri Vinay Kumar Jain, Chairman VIS, expressed his happiness and said that these programs provide a chance to the young generation to know about the rich cultural heritage of India.

In the end Dr. (Mrs) Bharti Swami, Principal VIS, thanked the artist for her miraculous performance.
