VIDHYASHRAM CONCLUDES REGIONAL SUMMIT OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
Vidhyashram International School organized Regional Summit of School Principals on 15 November 2018. The summit was jointly organized by Vidhyashram and ICTRC. The theme of the summit was “Students at Risk – Identification, Prevention and Intervention”. Dr. Bharti Swami, Principal, Vidhyashram International School, welcomed the guests and the delegates from various schools.
Summit was conducted in three sessions in which main speakers were: renowned educationist, education psychologist, career counselor and founding Chairman of ICTRC, Dr. V S Ravindran. Along with him were present National Co-coordinator of ICTRC, Professor Keshav Singh and Dr Naresh Nebhinani, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology AIIMS, who expressed their views and shared their expertise in the respective fields.
In the question answer round, Dr Ravindran discussed how to identify the students at risk, their treatment, counseling techniques, expertise and role of teachers in counseling. He also answered the queries of the principals on the topic.
In the first session, presentation on “Students at Risk – Perspective and Trends in Education” was given. Second session started with lecture on the term “Students at Risk”, its reasons and results. In the third session, various programs and projects for “Students at Risk” were discussed. National Co-coordinator of ICTRC, Prof Keshav Singh said that the summit was attended by the principals not only from the state of Rajasthan but also from the renowned schools of other states.
Shri Vinay Kumar Jain, Chairman of the Institute while greeting guests assured them that such programs will be organized regularly. On this occasion, Dr. Bharti Swami, Principal Vishyshram International School told that through this summit participating principals are better equipped to identify the students at risk well in time and take corrective steps to bring them to the national main stream and make them a better and healthy citizen of the country.
