Mahaveer Jayanti celebrations at Vidhyashram
10 April 2017, Jodhpur: The birth anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara – Prophet of Jains, was celebrated with great fervor at Vidhyashram International school, A special assembly was organized where students learned about the life and noble teachings of Bhagwan Mahavira. The assembly commenced with the chanting of Navkar Mantra. The young impressionable minds pledged to live a righteous life and follow the ethical principles of Jainism, including Ahinsa- causing no harm to living beings, Satya- to speak the truth, Astaya – not to possess the things that do not belong to you, Brahmacharya – not to indulge in sensual pleasures and Aparigraha – not to get attached to material things. Principal Dr(Mrs) Bharti Swami offered her warmest felicitation to the students on this occasion.She also reminded the students the importance of living a life free from every form of violence.
