Special Assemblies and Earth Day

Special assemblies were organised in the Vidhyashram school campus in support of the World Heritage Day and the forthcoming International Earth Day (22 April).

Children were made aware about the importance of protecting and preserving our valuable heritage and to appreciate the need for conserving our Mother Earth. Students of class X organised speeches and poems in the morning assembly apprising about the unprecedented threats that the planet faces and simple ways to protect it. A special environment pledge was taken by the school to recycle, restore the habitat and conserve it for the future generations.

Earth Day is an annual international event created to build a global citizenry to review the planet’s climate and raise public awareness about pollution. Vidhyashram school started its effort at grassroots level and provided an opportunity for all of us to do something meaningful for our nature A special skit was also presented to inculcate the habit of recycling and planting trees and inspire environment protection.
The Vice Principal spoke on the occasion informing children about the several online programmes, clubs , ideas which one can join and contribute to the movement. Mr DD Sharma told children that Indian values and customs have always been related to protect the environment like worshiping trees, water bodies, birds, species on different festivals and we must continue to preserve both our tradition and our planet.
