Curriculum

The primary objective of Vidhyashram is to impart scientific and progressive education with emphasis on inculcating and promoting Indian Culture & Tradition. For excellence in academics, a highly enriched and innovative curriculum has been designed through which Vidhyashram is able to develop cognitive, socio-emotional and motor skills for junior students and for senior students it adheres to CBSE norms which creates inquisitiveness and awareness of students towards learning modules. Through language development programmes for students of all age groups optimum potential for spoken and written English is achieved. The entire curriculum gives a sound foundation of the basics as well as helps the students to recognize opportunities and delve deeper in areas of his/her interest.

Pre Primary Section:
  • Curriculum is based on holistic development of a child. Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligence, Pigget’s Cognitive development theory and Montessori approach is followed to ensure to enhanceskill required to develop a strong foundation of education.
  • Lessons come alive with the help of smart class (Next Education Pvt Ltd) which gives students audio-visual exposure.
  • They are led into the essence of communication- the “Languages” through Jolly Phonics.
  • Activities are based on play-way method which helps children to enhance their multi-sensory and motor developments.
  • Primary Section:
  • The Faculty of the primary section believes that children learn best in a nurturing environment, which is safe, joyful and intellectually challenging.
  • At this tender age, an interdisciplinary approach is followed for teaching and learning is coupled with special consideration for each child’s individual interests and development of community responsibility.
  • Development and academic considerations shape decisions about the curriculum, organisation and day-to-day life throughout school.
  • The CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) system of evaluation is followed, whereby the students are assessed on oral and written assessments, projects, and creative worksheets and FA(Formative Assessment) and SA (Summative Assessment).
  • Middle and Secondary Section (Classes VI to X)
  • The Middle School works to provide a balance between attention to basics and equipping them with necessary skills and knowledge.
  • The teaching methodology aims to enhance cognitive as well as higher order thinking skills. Evaluation is both continuous and comprehensive which clearly reflects the progress of the child.
  • The students aims to be diverse in its interests and backgrounds; individuals thrive in the VIS community where the school’s philosophy is to hand hold each student to progress to his fullest potential in academics & extracurricular interests.
  • Based on CBSE guidelines, classes VI to X are also exposed to the CCE (continuous comprehensive evaluation) through formative and summative assessment.
  • Senior Secondary Section
  • At this stage the school offers 3 academic streams – Science, Commerce, and Humanities. We offer a range of subject choices across these streams to enable students to choose 5 subjects as per their interests and avenues for Higher education.
  • Exposure to Academic needs and skills that will be required at the under-graduate level are provided extensively to the students.
  • The 2 year study programme prepares students for the external Board examinations of CBSE in grade XII.
  • The students are exposed to a series of assessments, trial papers and Pre Boards to help them in strengthening their academic skill through reinforcement and evaluation. They are also encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities, workshops and counselling sessions along with academics a process of learning for life.
